ARIES FULL MOON: The Courage To Be
As I write this, my heart is filled with sorrow. I devote this writing to all beings who have lost their lives and to those who have lost loved ones and in the throes of immense suffering.
The Full Moon arrives at 12 degrees of Aries on Thursday, October 5 at 2:40 PM EDT.
Each Full Moon has their own mood, color, timbre, and song. During this Aries Full Moon, the mood is angry. The color is red. The timbre is harsh. The song is courageous.
Full Moon cycles are captivating. They capture us. While in the midst of this revelatory cycle, we cannot hide. Nor can pertinent matters remain hidden from us. A spotlight shines upon the spectacle of life. Illumination, insight, and discovery are driven by the energy of lunar ebullience. Sometimes, what we discover is not pleasant. And yet, it takes reconciliation of both light and shadow to serve and enhance personal healing and expansion of the soul.
This is a time in which to face and honor ourselves and each other. In essence, The Aries Full Moon is urging us to engage with the full capacity of our inherent being-ness.
These are passionate and intense times. The Aries Full Moon serves to heighten the collective mood. Volatile scenes are playing out upon the global screen. We are experiencing drama on the interior level as well.
Aries The Ram is a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars. Aries embodies the archetypes of The Warrior, The Pioneer, and The Loner. The qualities of Aries include courage, instinctiveness, assertiveness, passion, enthusiasm, individuality, innovativeness, creativity and leadership. When Aries is immersed in the lower vibrations, it expresses as immaturity, impatience, selfishness, anger, violence, arrogance, recklessness, and tyranny. When we are willing to embrace both the shadow and the light of our sacred being-ness, we become primed for true transformation layered with intimate compassion for both self and others in recognition of the complexity of being human.
As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries speaks to our primal instincts. As a mountainous creature, The Ram is no stranger to going it alone, forging its own path, and leading the way for others.
Wherever Aries resides in your natal chart is a distinct area in which you go it alone, and in doing so, deeply experience your individuality within the center of your solitude. It is a place in which to commune with your authentic being. It is an area where perhaps no other will be able to reconcile your stance. As we inhabit this lonely place, we discover who we are. The Aries Full Moon is urging us to engage with the total capacity of our inherent being-ness. In doing so, we embrace all that resides within us; the good, the bad, and the ugly. This takes nothing less than courage.
It takes courage to be. Self-repression leads to volatility. We cannot expect others to recognize us if we do not first recognize ourselves. As Aries represents our individual self, any negligence of one’s true essence will only express both outwardly and inwardly as anger. Self-repression leads to volatility.
Concentrated self-reflection is the key. We may think of reflecting upon the self as a peaceful venture. And yet, self- reflection also requires us to traverse the hot, fiery, aggressive, and angry aspects of our psyches. We are after all, human. Whether we are unleashing negative behaviors upon others or the outer world or not, we are still in a way inflicting upon ourselves the violence of our own anger in the form of inner turbulence, thus causing tremendous suffering. This suffering presents itself as unmitigated anxiety; which at it’s core, is repressed aggression.
The question therefore is: How do we safely and creatively transform our aggression in a transformative manner which moves us through to the other side where our higher self resides, allowing us to engage in pure expression of love?
When we recognize and embrace our being-ness, we will discover nothing less than the expression of our instinctual brilliance.
Be brave for yourself. Be brave for each other.
Just be.
Aries Full Moon Blessings Upon You.
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I lived through this horror, I can take the next thing that comes along.” You must do the thing you think you cannot do. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt ~

CAPRICORN FULL MOON: Moving Mountains
The Full Moon arrives at 17 degrees of Capricorn on Sunday, July 9 at 6:30 AM EDT.
If ever there was a time in which to delve deeply into our emotions, the time is now.
The beauty of Full Moon cycles is that they offer vision. We cannot break through something that we cannot see. Full Moons are the quintessential time in which to see, really see, what is lurking beneath the surface of our psyches. This obscured emotional matter is informing our lives, often in ways which only serve to oppress us. The Moon’s incandescent light offers us a springboard for the the deep interior dive. As we travel the trajectory of this downward plunge, we will encounter shadow realms inhabited by old interior companions. Their names are Anger, Rage, Shame, Sadness, and Grief. These dimensions of the self we have long abandoned are desperately seeking our attention so that they can be recognized and released. We in turn, are emancipated from their oppression. When we face them with an open heart, we free ourselves.
Beneath the shadow of our human psyche lies the opulent gold of our highest nature. Herein lies our inherent gifts, desired enlightenment, and personal freedom. As we courageously catapult ourselves from the precipice of our calcified nature, the perceived structures of safety and security crack open like an ancient dinosaur egg. The primordial matter of our soul is released and we are healed. In order to have this vision, we must willingly enter the portal. Once we are through, we must love what we discover there.
During a Full Moon, as the Sun and Moon reflect each other, so do we. We are mirrors unto ourselves and each other. We only have to willingly recognize and lovingly embrace who and what is before us. We may not be fond of the reflection, and yet, the image that gazes back, offers us an elixir for awakening.
With any lunar cycle, there is a community of planets who for better or worse, interact with each other. The Capricorn Full Moon has Mars and Pluto as her powerful traveling companions. This is a most challenging and volatile alignment. And yet, the alchemy of these planetary travelers serve to further assist our navigation through this time. Each planet is an entity unto itself, contributing to the gestalt of the multi-dimensional core of our being.
A most challenging three days is upon us. The Capricorn Moon will be the grounding force providing us with steadfastness, patience, and adherence to the path. Thus, we look to the qualities of Capricorn to see us through this arduous and trans-formative interlude of time.
Capricorn The Sea-Goat is a cardinal earth sign ruled by Saturn. Capricorn embodies the archetypes of The Hermit, The Father, and The Prime Minister. Capricorn loves a challenge, even in the face of being daunted by what lies ahead. The Sea-Goat is an ancient mythological creature with great stamina. He will climb the highest mountain and swim the widest ocean to arrive at his destination of accomplishment.
Capricorn embodies the qualities of authority, discipline, discipleship, solitude, accomplishment, melancholy, seriousness, determination, tenacity, boundaries, limitations and challenges. When Capricorn is out of balance, the less evolved expressions of aggressiveness, competitiveness, selfishness, avarice, depression and emotional stagnation arise.
Capricorn needs solitude in order to commune with the deep complexity that it’s ruler, Saturn, brings. While there is a tremendous desire for great accomplishment, there is also a deep seated fear of failure. Capricorn is daunted by their own greatness. Wherever Capricorn resides in your natal chart, is an area of great profundity, one which must be adhered to from a place of authenticity and self-authority. It is an area where you are being called to high achievement. And yet, this very realm may be challenged along the way with limitations, setbacks and delays. As a result, Capricorn can suffer from the proverbial inferiority complex. One of Capricorn’s most significant evolutionary tasks is to stay the course with the understanding that there are no shortcuts in attaining one’s goal. Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, will test one’s character and self-confidence over and over again. This is when we call upon our inner Sea-Goat.
This Capricorn Full Moon cycle is facilitating our journey with the drive, strength and grounded determination that we need to move inner mountains. By doing so, we will clear a path. Once this path unfolds before us we will find determined strength to climb what we have once perceived as an unreachable peak. Once we reach the summit and see what lies on the other side, we will not be disappointed. Even if the journey has been a bit messy, a long awaited realization will have congealed to perfection.
It is a time in which to take ourselves seriously; not in a manner which inflates us, but rather, in a way in which we garnish ourselves with self-respect.
Where do we stop ourselves out of fear of failure? What is requiring discipline and devotion at this time? Are we recognizing our limitations? Who and what are we raging at? How can we take responsibility for our feelings? Where do we need to set healthy boundaries? How can we love that which we deem unlovable within us? What is our own particular brand of greatness? Are we standing in our own authority? How can we author our own lives? What aspects of ourselves or our lives need to die? In what areas of our lives do we long for rebirth?
Capricorn is the solid ground provided in order for us to depart from that which no longer serves our true nature. There is a bigger picture. We cannot see the new landscape until the dust has settled. In the meantime, the Capricorn Moon is casting an orb of true reflection before us. We must first see before we can understand. Self-understanding requires the ability to stand under oneself. Like a mountain.
Capricorn Full Moon Blessings Upon You.
“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”
~ Rainer Maria Rilke ~
