NEW MOON IN LIBRA: The Circle of Darkness and Light

“As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul… ~ Hermes Trismegistus ~

The New Moon  arrives at 15 degrees of Libra on Monday, October 8 at 11:46 PM EDT.

The cyclical nature of life in all of its facets brings hope. We are in perpetual motion. Each phase of life has a beginning, a middle, and an end. We are swimming in circular motion circumventing the perennial process that both inspires and motivates the necessity for change in all of its myriad forms. The New Moon is the beginning of the circle which has no end.

Here we stand, having navigated the recent journey of this past lunation; different, wise, curious, and energized to begin yet another cycle of exploration. We are standing at the forefront of  a deeper layer of potential for our inner growth. We are, all together, a New Moon unto ourselves. What is calling to you? Where must you travel to reach your your next level of awareness?  In which areas do you wish to evolve? Just as the Moon, we are unto ourselves in constant flux. We will wax to fullness, recede into darkness, and begin anew. At this pivotal moment of the New Libra Moon, we are still in darkness, introspectively contemplating the seeds which we will sow. The ever constant Moon, our beloved satellite of the earth, teaches us that both the light and the darkness return to each other. And so it is with us.

Libra The Scales is a cardinal masculine air sign ruled by Venus. The archetypes of Libra are The Artist, The Lover, and The Peacemaker. Libra’s qualities include equilibrium, love, relational expression, aesthetic sensibility, inner harmony, peacefulness, fairness, partnering, inner balance, and social etiquette. Libra embodies the ability to embody consciously both the shadow and the light. The beauty of Libra is its exquisite expression of balance.

We embody all of these Libran qualities. They reside in a specific area of our natal chart. They are activated for each of us in different styles and manners. These qualities are profoundly available to incorporate into wherever this particular New Moon cycle falls for us. Knowledge of one’s natal chart is extremely helpful in understanding the specific area that is during this time, calling forth.

As with all lunar cycles, the qualities of the sign are always accompanied by other planets and configurations that add both texture and complexity to our current experience. We are meant to carry these other facets into the lunar cycle, thus developing those planetary qualities within the realms in which they wish to express. Of particular importance to this lunation is Venus, the ruler of Libra, which has entered its retrograde cycle. As the planetary ruler of Libra, Venus and the challenges that she faces figure ever more prominently in her expression of Libra at this time.

A retrograde cycle is likened to the concept of the underworld as it leads us into the more unconscious dimensions of that planet, thus into the darkness, where we can embrace our shadow with love and acceptance. This is an essential undertaking in order for our return to the light. Venus embarks upon the underworld every 18 months for 40 days and 40 nights. As Venus is in retrograde motion, our relationships take on new meaning. We contemplate those with whom we are intimate. We evaluate our relational patterns. We look into the relationship that we have with ourselves. We gaze upon the other with new eyes. As with all underworldly experiences, not only must we accept our own darkness, we must allow our loved ones their darkness as well. This is where true love in its myriad forms resides. Libran love requires that we embrace this duality.

Pluto is closely accompanying this lunation. Pluto’s close companionship with the Sun and the Moon intensifies even further the underworld experience. How do we embark upon this without fear? Fear of loss. Fear of death. Fear of each other. Fear of life itself. It is only in meeting our shadow with open arms that we can find our way through the tunnel that leads us to the light. It takes courage, faith, and non-attachment to how we may behold ourselves. No one wishes to face the darker aspects of their character. However, in doing so, we emancipate our soul.

As we navigate both the light and the dark, we grow our love to fruition. We sweep out the cobwebs that have been hiding in the corners of our psyche. We rise from the ashes. We shed our old skin. We gaze into the mirror and look upon our new complection. We are winter. We are summer. We are autumn and spring.

In both shadow and in light, we are equally magnificent.

Libra New Moon blessings upon you.

“As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul… ~ Hermes Trismegistus ~

The New Moon  arrives at 17 degrees of Virgo on Sunday, September 9 at 2:01 PM EDT.

As each New Moon arrives, we are stirred by a fresh facet of universal consciousness. There is an area within our lives which has reached completion. It is time to begin anew. There are whispers of our names upon the air. Listen. Can you hear your name? Universal intelligence is guiding us upon the next leg of our journey. At this time, there is a hidden roadmap. Over the next three days, this cosmic map will unfold before us, providing guidance and direction.

The New Moon is a time of deep introspection. While communing intimately with the interior self, knowledge of our authentic divine nature awakens. As this knowledge pours forth, we are in turn awakened to it.

The ground has been prepared. The seeds are planted. Upon our own steadfastness within this new awareness, a gradual process of becoming will lead to fruition. We may not feel our legs just yet. When three days have passed, when the Moon emerges into her Crescent phase, we too will begin to emerge.  For now; hunker down. And listen.

Virgo The Virgin is a feminine mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury. Virgo is the quintessential sign of service unto others. The Virgoan path is one of helpership. As a sign possessed of humility and quietude, Virgo reminds us that in order to guide others, we must first look within. For we cannot become what we do not recognize. We cannot give what we do not have. We cannot impart what we do not know. We can only draw upon an inner knowing infused by the heart. Herein lies a mastery of serving each other and the world.

As the New Moon’s close companion is Neptune, it is a time of tremendous sensitivity. Neptune is the planet of otherworldliness, creativity, mysticism, spirituality, empathy, and collective suffering. Virgo and Neptune are perfect cohorts; as together they facilitate grounded compassionate awareness. We are seeing beyond three dimensional reality whereby the meaning of our incarnation goes far beyond our personal desires to a strong and fervent yearning to serve. The cries of the world are upon us. An attunement to the divine unification of all life is coursing through our veins.

This New Moon serves as a grounding force whereby we have the ability to hold onto ourselves while extending ourselves at the same time. We are feeling the woman in Saudi Arabia who has been arrested. We are feeling immigrant parents and their children, estranged from each other. We are feeling the animals, whose habitat is being stolen away. We are feeling those who are victims in the throes of brutal wars.

While this New Moon is heightening our awareness to such circumstances in the world, this awareness is always upon us. It may not always be at the edge of our consciousness, but it is there. As inherently psychic beings, everyone knows everything. We are one psychic organism. At this time the universe is doing a cosmic reset within our personal lives as well as in all of humanity. We are primed for an expanded awareness of everything and everyone. From this new awareness emanates the desire to become better so that we can be better for each other.

There is also an opportunity for an expanded awareness of joy. Suffering and joy are not mutually exclusive. We can walk hand in hand with both. In doing so, we bear even greater gifts to the world. As we attune to sadness and joy; the personal and the collective; let us know that service is not always a grand gesture. Service is an attitude. It can inhabit all areas of life with every breath that we take.

Do you long to contribute in service? What do you deeply care about? Which area of your life is being honed and perfected? How can you best serve your body? Where do you reside in quiet joy? How can you accomplish a small task with great love? To who, what, and where are you being called?

In such chaotic times as these, know that we have ourselves, we have each other, and we have the world. That’s a whole lot.

Just show up.

The world needs you

FULL MOON IN PISCES: Rising To The Surface

“As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul… ~ Hermes Trismegistus ~

The Full Moon  arrives at 3 degrees of pisces on Sunday, August 26 at at 7:56 AM EDT.

Throughout the summer, we have been immersed within a time of tremendous complexity and challenge. We are processing the life changes brought about by the long eclipse cycle which is still upon us. In some cases, we are still deep in the throes of dramatic shifts. Adding to the challenging eclipse cycle, we have had six planets simultaneously moving in retrograde motion;  Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Retrograde cycles, while offering many opportunities in which to reflect and reassess, also cast confusion, frustration, and misunderstanding upon our lives.  As Mercury has recently gone direct, and Mars will go direct on August 27, we are starting to feel at least a little bit lighter than before. Needless to say, it’s been a tumultuous time, one in which we have had no choice but to face our deepest fears.

As the dust settles, we look upon a new landscape. At first glance, there may be shock. As we settle into acceptance and surrender, our emotional life springs forth with new information. The message is that we can endure. We are thriving. And mostly, we are living alongside of our feeling lives, allowing for the congealment of both experience and emotion.

Whenever the cosmos presents us with Pisces The Fishes, we have the supreme opportunity to awaken what lies asleep in the depths of our being. The element of water awakens deep emotional realms where we can either sink or swim. We can fearfully and resistively plummet to the ocean floor or we can willingly and courageously take the plunge and rise to the surface. The level of consciousness that we bring to our emotional lives at this juncture will determine the course that we will take. The choice is ours to make. We can choose to drown in the throes of a tidal wave; or thrive within the flow of smooth currents. Perhaps we need to sink a little before we can swim. Whatever the case may be, going deeply within and communing with that which is unspeakable will be the life raft that carries us to the shore of emotional transformation. It is only then, that we can begin the real voyage.

Pisces The Fishes is a mutable feminine water sign ruled by Neptune. Prominent archetypal themes for this sign include The Dreamer, The Poet, The Mystic, The Martyr and The Redeemer. Pisces embodies the qualities of compassion, empathy, heightened sensitivity, imagination, mysticism, artistry, creativity, dreaminess, other-worldliness, changeability, and attunement to the Divine. As one of the most complicated and mysterious signs of the zodiac, the place where it resides within our own chart is difficult territory to charter. And yet, the complexity of such mystery and sensitivity bears the gift of creative healing for ourselves and each other.

In the wake of this Full Moon, we have full access to our primal emotional nature as a means for rising up and breaking through. We are discovering that we are both the dreamer and the dream. Psychic sensibilities are heightened. As we rise to the surface of our psyche, we can see the horizon. Everything is crystal clear as light upon a placid sea.

Pisces Full Moon Blessings Upon You.

FULL MOON IN LIBRA: Balancing The Heart

The Full Moon  arrives at 10 degrees of Libra on Saturday, March 31 at 8:36 AM EDT.

Wherever the Moon is, there is splendor. No matter her phase; no matter her appearance, she is magnificent. The Full Moon phase is perhaps the most splendid of all. Her radiant orb looms largely above and upon us. We are filled with a sense of constancy. She evokes all manner of  layered emotions, filtering the particles of confusion and unfulfillment from our psychic atmosphere. Her replete presence calls forth from us full spectrum consciousness in which to inform and inspire our process of transformation. From here, we proceed with vision of tremendous magnitude.

One can liken this to an arduous yet successful mountain climb. We are standing at the top of the mountain with a clear unfettered view of the night’s spectacular sky, reflecting the radiant light which we all embody; yet, in which we darken with the unconscious threads of self-destruction which tether us to rocky ground. Herein lies a choice. We can view and experience the multidimensional realms before us; or, we can remain in the limited oppressive land of three dimensional reality which says, “All that you see is all that there is.” It is our choice. We all have the capacity and strength to shift our awareness. We only have to embrace this optimal cycle which is upon us.

During the pinnacle of the Moon’s unwavering presence, light is shed upon our questions and concerns. A message is delivered to a relational circumstance or situation long pondered. Perhaps there has been something in particular that has been looming largely in the invisible background of our heart’s domain.

That which is repressed becomes distorted. When we ignore the pure energy of enlightenment that the Full Moon offers to us, we can potentially become fueled with a sort of mania driven by the irrational forces of the unconscious mind.

As each zodiac sign has an evolved manifestation coupled with a distinct shadow manifestation, Libra does so no less. Libra’s shadow emerges within the realm of relationships most of all. Libra fears conflict, thus prone to over-compromise.This often results in people pleasing of the highest order. Thus, an opportunity to engage in healthy discourse can seem daunting. This in turn can be an act of self-betrayal.

Libra longs for love; love of the courtly sort: the state of aesthetic love which emanates longing for balance and equality. When the scales are tipped, the Libran heart is torn asunder.

Wherever Libra resides in your star chart, there is tremendous longing for true connection and partnership. It is an area in which the aesthetics of grace, tenderness, and true partnership are both required and lived forthrightly.

During this highly relational Full Moon, Mercury, The Messenger of The Gods, provides steady compansionship, offering a prime opportunity for open hearted communication. Mercury is a fine companion for the Moon, as he lightens her up and assists with an ever heightened awareness of the destructiveness of dualistic thinking. Both Libra and Mercury can see beyond the extreme rationale that only serves to divide and separate us from each other, thus mending the bridge to true compassion and understanding. This is a time to grow beyond duality.

The recent weeks have been heavily fueled by Mars. Anger has been palpable. There may be regrets relating to our own words and behavior as well as challenges to forgive the irate behavior and unkind words of others. Mars reminds us of our inner warrior, demanding the delineation of boundaries within the realm of passion. The heart centered Libra energy is challenged at this time with a field of aggression. There is room for both, as they each are necessary. In pure Libra fashion, we can unite them as an efficacious collaboration for balancing relationship, both with the self and with others.

The heart has four chambers. Are they balanced? Do they flow between each other? We can hold it all, as long as those chambers have equal distribution of the myriads of emotional understanding and lucid expression. We have a choice. Making choices poses challenges for Libra.  So the feeling realm must be invoked by the higher self. For it is the heart that truly knows.

As we embrace the first Full Moon of Spring, commune with both the light and the shadows that the Moon casts before us. They are reminiscent of the light and shadow that we exchange with each other.

We all are mirrors. Who is gazing back at you? What do you wish to reflect upon the world? First we must look within our own mirror. Only when we embrace the reflection of the self, can we receive the reflection of another.  Mutual reflection met with receptivity balances the heart. The balanced heart balances the world. When the world is balanced, our hearts are set free.

Libra Full Moon Blessings Upon You.

FULL MOON IN VIRGO: Healing Into Helpfulness

The Full Moon  arrives at 11 degrees of Virgo on Thursday, March 1 at 7:51 PM EST.

The Moon is our timekeeper. She rotates around our blue planet like a slow waltz. With grace and mystique, she reveals to us the lesser and greater aspects of her physical being; all of which are reflections of cyclical life in its myriad forms. When full, she looms large and picturesque above the earth. She is the light keeper and the light giver.

The same goes for us. Sometimes we live and express from the full light of our pure essence. Other times, we are hidden in the cavernous darkness of our psyches.  We need to traverse both of these worlds.  We cannot grow while standing still within one stagnant dimension of consciousness. Internal growth is fluid, ever yielding new shapes, forms, and dimensions of our ever evolving soul.

The Full Moon is an opportunity for us to shine light upon an area of our consciousness which has remained hidden. After the travails of darkness, we see the light. Something that has weighed heavily upon our shoulders has been lifted. The illumination of The Full Moon allows us to put it all down as we engage with an awareness that resonates with personal truth. What has been incubating within is born anew.

Time is traveling at unparallelled speed. This earthly journey is a fast track. As we are still in the midst of the greater eclipse cycle; emotions, circumstances, and personal crisis have been looming large in our lives. Eclipses are like catapults.  Events unravel like shooting stars. Our awareness soars at the speed of light. We have been undergoing a cosmic cleanse.

As the Full Moon in Virgo arrives, we will find ourselves landing upon the soft earth. We pick ourselves up, dry our tears, dust ourselves off, and engage with self-nurturing; as we integrate and synthesize this most challenging time passage from which we are now emerging. In the process of caring for ourselves, we are energized. Within the fluidity of our being, there is solidity. When we unconditionally show up for ourselves, we inadvertently show up for others. It may surprise you as to how greatly one’s authentic presence serves another. As we navigate self-responsibility within the realm of our own healing process, it comes across in translation; mirroring to other beloved beings their true worth. When we heal ourselves, we assist others with a possibility that they too can heal. Being deeply of service requires looking deeply within.

Virgo The Virgin is a mutable feminine earth sign ruled by Mercury. The qualities of Virgo include, kindness, patience, discrimination, helpfulness, mindful servitude, perfectionism, groundedness, healing, healthful living, and humility. The archetypes of Virgo are The Servant, The Analyst, The Hermit, The Healer, and The Perfectionist.

The Virgin is greatly misunderstood in popular culture and at times, even in the realm of Astrology. The word “virgin” means “whole unto herself.” While purity is greatly associated with Virgo, it’s meaning is not intended as a state of one’s sexuality or lack of primary partnership; but rather, an awareness that stems from independence, strength, and fortitude. Virgos are some of the strongest and most tenacious people you will ever meet. Wherever Virgo is in your chart, there is integrity, independence, and a particularly gifted area in which you are of efficacious service to others. The Full Moon is landing in that particular arena of your chart at this time; providing an opportunity to engage with one’s self-sufficiency and independence, coupled with an awareness of where and how you inherently offer profound service to others. The spirit of service is the quintessential quality of Virgo.

We have been traveling with a fleet of Pisces planets which serve as Virgo’s polarity. The Full Moon is accompanied by The Sun, Neptune, Mercury, Venus, and Chiron. Neptune is looming largest among them all, carrying the Full Moon through what may have been uninhabited waters. Amidst the grounded stability of Virgo, there are also high tidal frequencies within the watery realm of emotion.  We are endowed with the gifts of feeling, mysticism, and spiritual expansion. It may at times even feel as though we are traveling through another world, one which may seem foreign, and yet, filled with enchantment. Reality is hard to grapple with as the Neptunian influence is one of high idealism inspiring us to save the world. But first, we must save ourselves.

The expanse and immensity of the water element that is upon us is beyond words; for the realm of water knows no language other than what it deeply feels within it’s fathomless depths. Sometimes, only feeling is necessary for our growth without the headiness of words and explanations. As Virgo and Pisces partner with each other, we have the opportunity to remain grounded while surfing the unchartered sea.

We all know and understand the pain we feel in response to another’s suffering. Our task at this time is to learn to tolerate our own pain in the face of another’s suffering. Within this capacity, we may be more fully present without the personal experiential chaos which emerges from our desire to heal the other. Healing is spontaneous. It is born of the loving presence of our authenticity. Healing is helping.

It is a time of reckoning. What has long been felt already deemed, has made it’s reprise and shaken up our lives. Allow this reprise as you would a gorgeous passage in music. Soon it will resolve to it’s original key or it may modulate into a new seascape where we can sail upon calmer waters.

It is a time in which to hoist your white sail and surrender.

CANCER SUPER FULL MOON: Emotional Alchemy

This writing is dedicated to The Divine Mother. May we know her. May she guide our emotions as they flow into the current of oceanic love.

The Super Full Moon arrives at 11 degrees of Cancer on Monday, January 1 at 9:24 PM EST.

What better way to start the New Year than with a Full Super Moon in all of her  luminescence? Warmth and radiance pour forth. We are standing in the spotlight of our own illumination.

A supermoon is a term coined in modern astrology to define an event in which a Full Moon makes the closest approach to the Earth on its elliptical orbit. During such events, like the tides, our emotions run high and strong. We have been swimming vigorously through whirlpools of tears; both of joy and of sorrow. Propelled by our awareness of the fragility of life, our feelings are washed ashore. We greet them at the shoreline.

As Moon ruled Cancer is the quintessential sign of pure emotional sensitivity; our emotions are immeasurably heightened. We have pristine vision of our personal palette of sentiment that perhaps has been invisible to us in the past.  Our very beings are an array of love, joy, hope, anticipation, sorrow, regret, and the daunting awareness that time is ever fleeting. We vow to cherish each and every moment. We treasure the precious people in our lives. Every-thing and every-one become even more meaningful to us. The gates of our hearts are swung more fully open.

Life looms large at The New Year. Life looms even greater during a Super Full Moon. As we combine these events, there is a sacred marriage in service to our own spiritual purification.

We think of beginning anew at the New Moon, and yet, this Full Moon is a pure beginning.  As we enter the New Year infused with our own sentience, we emerge from a place of confusion into an enlightened emotional landscape. This lunation takes us to a highly elevated juncture; a towering precipice from which to leap into the oceanic waters of Divine Love. We have been swimming vigorously through whirlpools of multifaceted tears propelled by our awareness of the fragility of life. Now, our feelings are washed ashore. We greet them at the shoreline.

Cancer is a cardinal feminine water sign ruled by the Moon. Therefore, this Cancer Moon is right at home within her own rulership. The significant facets of this sign are emotions, tenderness, home, family, children, tradition, mother, healing, connection and the nurturing of self and others. Cancer’s archetypes are The Mother, The Healer, and The Invisible One.

The softness of this time is imbued with a Grand Water Trine from the Moon to Neptune to Mars-Jupiter and back to the Moon. Trines are geometric forms comprising a perfect triangle. They are beacons of flow and ease and grace. Water is the element of emotion, empathy, compassion, receptivity, and psychic sensitivity. This Mother of all Moons is keeping kind company with her planetary companions. As they accompany her, they too are assisting us so that we may access the Divine Feminine within as we embrace all that is Yin. As we soften, we open our arms and graciously receive.

Much has been settled within us. As the waters calm, there is a new seascape of the life which flows forth. Tears may spill. Let them flow. Tears cleanse our perception. Perception is our window to the world.

Light transcendant is cast upon our path; a moonglow like no other.

The Moon is within our reach. We only have to reach within.

Cancer Super Full Moon Blessings Upon You.

SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON: Believing is Seeing

The New Moon arrives at 26 degrees of Sagittarius on Monday, December 18 at 1:30 AM EST.

In the grand scheme of life’s magnificent panorama of experience, we are granted numerous cycles in which to begin anew. No matter the size and length of the cycle, each one is potent; portending opportunity for growth and transformation. Each one has it’s own planetary themes, style, flavor, and characteristics; all of which speak to specific areas of one’s life as well as to particular dimensions of one’s psyche. The New Moon is one such cycle; one which falls into the microcosmic scheme of cyclical events. However short this cycle may be, it is no small matter. Less is more.

New Moon consciousness is quiet. All the more better for us to hear. But first, we have to listen. The small still voice within has something to say.

While Sagittarian expression is quite expansive and profusive, our inner voice is speaking more boldly through the quiet atmosphere. There is a lot to say. This time is as expansive as the Milky Way, for this New Moon appears in The Galactic Center, a most powerful and auspicious space in the galaxy known by astrologers as The Gateway to God.  Accompanied by Mercury, Venus and Saturn, this magnificent alignment ushers in waves of optimism and visionary gifts of manifestation. This outstanding lunation appears just before the Winter Solstice and the ingress of Saturn into Capricorn. These happenings are momentous in nature; each one in and of itself a harbinger of change. We have the enthusiasm and optimism of Sagittarius as well as the somber and melancholy mood of Capricorn and Saturn; quite the recipe for the balancing of opposites in which we reconcile our faith and happiness with our more cautionary and melancholic nature.

In the background, the cosmic cheerleaders are chanting us on to take the leap from the precipice of this mountainous plateau at which we have finally arrived after the strenuous climb from the ground of our human limitations. We have arrived at the peak of spiritual awakening. An auspicious moment. We see the light. We don’t know what is ahead. We do know that the rewards of our arduous inner and outer work are coming to fruition. Perhaps for the first time in a long while, we have faith. We believe in ourselves. The Divine has shown it’s holy face. Our sense of forsakenness has dissipated.

Consciousness is stirred anew during the dark sky of a New Moon. As we approach the shortest day of the year, the darkness is deeper and thicker.  The main themes are beginnings, endings, and faith. As we cultivate this faith, envisioning what we wish to manifest in our lives on all levels, we see our dreams come to fruition. Dreams do come true. It may sound Pollyanna. She was on to something. Our thoughts and beliefs do create our reality. What we believe is what we see.

It takes intimate communion with self and deep concentration in order to penetrate the karmic levels of our being which reside unconsciously in order to break through to the manifestation of our dreams. With the expansion of Sagittarius and the contraction of Capricorn, the stillness of the Winter Solstice can help us to congeal these polarities with both grounded faith and solid wisdom.

Sagittarius The Centaur is a mutable fire sign ruled by Jupiter. Sagittarius rules optimism, advanced education, exploration, adventure, foreign travel, astral travel, intuition, religion, faith, the higher mind, learning, seeking, and expansion. The archetypes for Sagittarius include The Student, The Gypsy, and The Philosopher.

As we consider the symbol of Sagittarius, we can see half horse and half human, shooting his arrow into the sky not knowing where it will land. It is an act of pure faith. The archer could quite possibly miss the mark. And yet, with head held high, he aims his arrow into the heavens with the faith that it will land on the path to his destiny. There is encompassed within this figure both animal nature and spiritual nature. If ever there was a time in which to embrace ourselves as spiritual beings having a human experience, it is within this very moment.

Shoot your arrow into the heavens tied with a note of your deepest longing. Know that an angel will make the perfect catch and grant your wish. Embark upon an ecstatic gallop from the place in which you were once tethered.

Sagittarius New Moon Blessings Upon You.

ARIES FULL MOON: The Courage To Be

As I write this, my heart is filled with sorrow. I devote this writing to all beings who have lost their lives and to those who have lost loved ones and in the throes of immense suffering.

The Full Moon arrives at 12 degrees of Aries on Thursday, October 5 at 2:40 PM EDT.

Each Full Moon has their own mood, color, timbre, and song. During this Aries Full Moon, the mood is angry. The color is red. The timbre is harsh. The song is courageous.

Full Moon cycles are captivating. They capture us. While in the midst of this revelatory cycle, we cannot hide. Nor can  pertinent matters remain hidden from us. A spotlight shines upon the spectacle of life. Illumination, insight, and discovery are driven by the energy of lunar ebullience. Sometimes, what we discover is not pleasant. And yet, it takes reconciliation of both light and shadow to serve and enhance personal healing and expansion of the soul.

This is a time in which to face and honor ourselves and each other. In essence, The Aries Full Moon is urging us to engage with the full capacity of our inherent being-ness.

These are passionate and intense times. The Aries Full Moon serves to heighten the collective mood. Volatile scenes are playing out upon the global screen. We are experiencing drama on the interior level as well.

Aries The Ram is a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars. Aries embodies the archetypes of The Warrior, The Pioneer, and The Loner. The qualities of Aries include courage, instinctiveness, assertiveness, passion, enthusiasm, individuality, innovativeness, creativity and leadership.  When Aries is immersed in the lower vibrations, it expresses as immaturity, impatience, selfishness, anger, violence, arrogance, recklessness, and tyranny. When we are willing to embrace both the shadow and the light of our sacred being-ness, we become primed for true transformation layered with intimate compassion for both self and others in recognition of the complexity of being human.

As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries speaks to our primal instincts. As a mountainous creature, The Ram is no stranger to going it alone, forging its own path, and leading the way for others.

Wherever Aries resides in your natal chart is a distinct area in which you go it alone, and in doing so, deeply experience your individuality within the center of your solitude. It is a place in which to commune with your authentic being. It is an area where perhaps no other will be able to reconcile your stance.  As we inhabit this lonely place, we discover who we are.  The Aries Full Moon is urging us to engage with the total capacity of our inherent being-ness. In doing so, we embrace all that resides within us; the good, the bad, and the ugly. This takes nothing less than courage.

It takes courage to be. Self-repression leads to volatility. We cannot expect others to recognize us if we do not first recognize ourselves. As Aries represents our individual self, any negligence of one’s  true essence will only express both outwardly and inwardly as anger.  Self-repression leads to volatility.

Concentrated self-reflection is the key. We may think of reflecting upon the self as a peaceful venture. And yet, self- reflection also requires us to traverse the hot, fiery, aggressive, and angry aspects of our psyches. We are after all, human. Whether we are unleashing negative behaviors upon others or the outer world or not, we are still in a way inflicting upon ourselves the violence of our own anger in the form of inner turbulence, thus causing tremendous suffering. This suffering presents itself as unmitigated anxiety; which at it’s core, is repressed aggression.

The question therefore is: How do we safely and creatively transform our aggression in a transformative manner which moves us through to the other side where our higher self resides, allowing us to engage in pure expression of love?

When we recognize and embrace our being-ness, we will discover nothing less than the expression of our instinctual brilliance.

Be brave for yourself. Be brave for each other.

Just be.

Aries Full Moon Blessings Upon You.

VIRGO NEW MOON: The Gift In The Wound

The New Moon  arrives at 27 degrees of Virgo on Wednesday, September 20 at 1:29 AM EDT.

When we gaze upon the night sky of a New Moon, we see no Moon. The sky is dark as dark can be. While the Moon is there, we cannot see her. And yet, in a display of translucence, the stars are shining forth more brightly than any other time of the month. Without the darkness, we cannot see these glistening jewels. Their only recognition can be met without the reflection of the Sun. Certain gifts are only had in darkness.

The New Moon holds all of the clues; clues which only we can recognize, ascertain, and assimilate. A New Moon is the quintessential time in which to embrace our own subjective consciousness.  At the dawn of a new lunar cycle, our higher self gently speaks to us as the small still voice within. Listen.

The New Virgo Moon is accompanied closely by Chiron, The Wounded Healer. These current cosmic companions offer renewed opportunity to befriend our wounds. They are aching and throbbing and longing for relief. They are yearning to be seen, heard, and felt; rather than perceived. For perception is often false.

The Wounded Healer is a powerful archetype often resisted and repressed. As we strive to heal and overcome our emotional and physical pain, the gifts of the wound are easily eluded.  In the wake of this powerful three day interval of  time in which we are offered paramount understanding, we have an opportunity to feel into the areas where we have felt we will never heal. These are the exact places in which we offer potent balm in facilitating the healing of those wounds in another.

Virgo The Virgin is a mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury. Virgo is grounded, kind, patient, helpful, detail oriented, perfectionistic, critical, careful, and astute. There is an admirable quality of independence which often goes overlooked where Virgo is concerned. The Virgin is often associated with purity, chastity and self-denial. The origin of the word “virgin” means “complete unto oneself.” Thus, Virgo has powerful tools within a vast stockade of inner strength. When there is a crisis, Virgo calmly knows the art of intervention with precise attunement to details and tremendous discriminatory powers regarding the order of care pertaining to the situation. Virgo knows how to separate the wheat from the chafe. No stone goes unturned.

While every sign has it’s evolved manifestations, there is also a shadow realm to contend with. For Virgo, it is a propensity for criticism. Virgo can be quite critical of others, even if only within their own mind, yet they are never so critical of anyone as much as they are of themselves. While an emphasis of self-criticism can be painfully destructive, it is in its best sense the impetus for excellence in word and deed.

Virgo is the connoisseur for alchemizing the base of our wounded nature into the pure gold of our higher self. In doing so, we are primed as healers and beings of service to others. At this juncture, if we are courageous, we will discover the universal elixir.

Wherever Virgo resides in your natal chart is an area in which you will feel a sense of depth and renewal at this time. It is where your capacity for healing and service reside. It is an area in which you demand much perfection of yourself. Turn here, for this is where Virgo is your personal guide to the underworld of your wounded self.

Take the journey. The path is everywhere. Hold someone’s hand along the way. Hold your own. Look up into the darkness of the night sky and count the stars. For as many stars as you can count, there are gifts to behold. Feel them.

Virgo New Moon Blessings Upon You.

PISCES FULL MOON: Surrender

The Full Moon  arrives at 13 degrees of Pisces on Wednesday, September 6 at 3:02 AM EDT

As I write, I find myself somewhat at a loss for words. The Pisces Full Moon experience is fathomless and when accompanied by it’s ruler Neptune, as this Full Moon is, it is difficult to articulate the depth of emotion and otherworldly associations that we are experiencing at this time.

As with any lunar cycle, there is a fleet of planets accompanying the Moon, imbuing her with layers of cavernous depth. These planetary travelers serve to further assist our navigation through this time. Each planet is a spaceship unto itself; a part of the planetary gestalt sailing the cosmos.

At this juncture, the guest of honor is Neptune; an embodiment of the invisible, the numinous, the sacred, the transcendent, The Divine. This is a most propitious moment in which to access the immense sensitivity residing in our emotional body that we as sentient beings inhabit. There is no escaping it. We are as open as a cloudless sky.

This is the first Full Moon following the intense eclipse cycle of the last New Moon and Full Moon. One would think that we are getting a bit of a break, however, we are in the thick of things. Eclipse cycles last far longer than their actual events. We are now  integrating and synthesizing all that has emerged both internally and externally during the recent eclipses. This is a time of reckoning. The only manner in which to reconcile the astronomical shape shifting of our psyches and of our lives is to surrender. Surrender to the Unknown.  Surrender to the Self. Surrender to Emotion. Surrender to the Divine.

There is no amount of personal will that can navigate this increment of time. Time is navigating us. We have expanded beyond intellectual understanding. All we can do is breath and let grace lead the way. We have to once again, find our legs. And right now, our legs are treading the watery realm of Pisces The Fishes. So tread, and swim, and paddle. Make sure that you come up for air. Pisces reminds us of our oceanic nature.  By delving deeply into the mysterious realm that we now inhabit, we align with  ourselves as we are lead into the next chapter of our soul’s unfolding.

We are releasing the hardened molds of self-definition that we have been living out thus far, only to find that we as we have known ourselves, are no longer. The ego is dissipating. The ground beneath our feet feels like a rip tide pulling us away from shore.  Just let go. We will eventually wash ashore in a new land where we will greet an awakened self.

Change is not always visible. Change also takes place within the invisible realms of our being. The soul, the psyche, and the heart are being put through their paces. There may be something that is bubbling on the surface of your mind, a matter which you believed you had put to rest long ago, but now is revisiting with persistent yet gentle intensity. Breath into it.

This is a tender time. As a time of expanded compassion, shower some upon yourself.  Allow yourself to dream. Cry. Forgive. Create. Pray. Visualize. Listen to Music. Commune with Nature; all facets of the Neptunian realm.

But mostly; just surrender.

Pisces Full Moon Blessings Upon You.

“I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day.” ~ Abraham Lincoln ~

“Always say “yes” to the present moment. What could be more futile, more insane, than to create inner resistance to what already is? what could be more insane than to oppose life itself, which is now and always now? Surrender to what is. Say “yes” to life — and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you.”
~ Eckhart Tolle ~

“Something amazing happens when we surrender and just love. We melt into another world, a realm of power already within us. The world changes when we change. the world softens when we soften. The world loves us when we choose to love the world.” ~ Marianne Williamson ~
